ABOUT UNTAPPED

Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.  America is known as the land of opportunity, yet for many in this country, the chance to build a thriving-wage career has grown more elusive than ever.

Told through the prism of our nation’s top CEOs and nonprofit leaders, UNTAPPED is a feature-length documentary film that follows six diverse young adults from low-income communities as they go through a rigorous skills-training program in search of a better future for themselves and their families. We follow their challenges and triumphs, and hear from experts about why a shift towards a skills-based hiring movement benefits individuals, companies and our nation’s economy.

This film was created with the goal to change hearts and minds about what the profile of a “qualified” job candidate looks like and to spur action towards more inclusive and equitable hiring practices. We hope the film will encourage business leaders and hiring managers everywhere to re-think their talent strategies and accelerate the shift towards skills-based hiring and mobility to benefit individuals, businesses, and our country’s economy. Let’s work together to kick open the doors of opportunity for all.

UNTAPPED was developed and Executive Produced by Carrie Varoquiers with Workday in partnership with Executive Producers LeBron James and Maverick Carter with SpringHill Entertainment, and was directed by award-winning filmmaker Josh Kahn.
